Description: Italian violin from Milan?
- Repaired in 1926 by B. F. Phillips, 931 Liberty Ave., Pittsburgh, PA
- Past work includes a grafted neck, peg bushings, back seam re-inforcing and a sound post patch
- Re-varnishing might have been done
- The top is medium-grained spruce, the back is two-piece flamed maple
- The fingerboard is ebony and the fittings are boxwood
- Dominant strings
- Rich, full sound with an especially nice "G" string
